My response is that I play in a few pool leagues. My familiarity Say’s What? I say you know, take Pool Billiards.
Occasionally people instantly think about swimming, gaming or a vehicle pool whenever they hear the word pool. To be able to save time and confusion, my normal response is I play pool in a league, do you play pocket billiards?
The two words don’t seem or sound natural together like that. They do however kind of go hand in hand. While doing some important word study, I discovered that the term swimming billiards, typed just like this was searched 40,164 times last month.
This sounds like a fairly large number and it’s quite a few hunts. This is a little number however compared to the monthly searches performed a month on the keyword billiards, which has been 516,734.
Billiards Parlor came in second with 99,566 searches for the entire month. If we put those high 3 collectively we are well over half a million monthly searches and that is only for these 3 keyword phrases.
We played in a championship match another night at one of those APA teams whom I play on and one of my teammates stated that playing swimming pool is on the decline. I am not sure whether it is a decline or not. There are however many people searching for pool and billiards related substance, information or products.
I wrote this article because I view these two words together all the time. They do not sound natural but they kind of go together in a humorous way.
If you hear a person say, I am likely to play pool, you understand pocket billiards.
I figure since over 20 million people type these words into search engines in a month, that they need to be a valid search phrase. (Marketers would call this a short tail keyword term.)
Well now that I got this off of my chest, I figure it’s time to shoot some pool.
